/ Monday, 8 August 2011 /

Feel the difference between hard/soft, rough/smooth.
Rub baby’s hand gently over the dryer ball and the sponge, the pastry brush and the velcro roller.

Touch baby’s cheek with the red feathery strip/pink pouch/ribbon.
Play tickle games.

Taking baby’s hand to trace the outline of the shapes in and on the box. You could progress to looking for similar shapes in your home situation.

Talk about each of these items as you use them discussing their properties, shape and colour. Use them to sing or say nursey rhymes or somg where appropriate such as, Round and Round the Garden with the feathery strip or the wooden spoon to tap out the beat of a tune.
